Stories from the Tree - A Lullaby

I gifted my parents the book Stories from the Tree for Christmas.  As my mom thumbed through the book, she excitedly announced she knew the answer to this question and promptly read the reflection question: "Did you sing songs to your baby?  What was the song?"  And then she broke out in song and sang the lyrics to the lullaby that she had sung to both my sister and I as little ones.  I had not heard the ditty for probably 40 years.  It touched me to tears, but not just I, both my niece and nephew heard the song too.  It was a song also sung to them by their mom, though they didn't remember.  On this Christmas, they experienced the gift of a generational lullaby of love passed from grandmother, to mother and who knows, maybe someday they will sing it to their children too.
